ER-1 mešanica je bila razvita s strani Hawk Performance za trg vzdržljivostnega dirkanja z enostavnim ciljem; ponuditi višji koeficient trenja kot konkurenčne ploščice za izdržljivostno dirko in hkrati ohraniti enako ali izboljšano življenjsko dobo. Leta testiranja na najbolj prestižnih dirkah v Ameriki je rezultirala v dobro zaokroženo mešanico, ki ponuja idealno modulacijo in povratno informacijo pedale ter prelomno stabilnost trenja v celotnem temperaturnem območju. Ta doslednost zmogljivosti, uro za uro, jo naredi idealno ne le za izdržljivostno dirko, temveč tudi za track day dogodke, time trial dirke in celo sprint dirke.
